Regina Cassandra seems to be putting a revamped version of herself out there, these days. From making red carpet appearances in barely-there, backless mesh gowns to pouting into the camera for steamy shoots in bed clothes and morning-after make-up — Regina, it
seems, is no longer the girl next door. If there’s pressure to break out of the nice-girl mould she’s been famous for so far, she’s not admitting it.
So what’s the secret behind ‘Regina V 2.0’? “Ahem, boredom, perhaps...” she giggles. “This shoot, for instance, is one of those things I just decided to do on a whim, when I was lazing around in bed, basking in the morning light, just being. I was at my comfortable best and it was fun. I am seriously tired of doing fashion shoots, you know. Dress up... make up… I am so fed up with the routine. Come to think of it, I should do more stuff like this one.”
There’s nothing more to it then — an image makeover, perhaps? “Well, anything that I do, I do because I like trying new things that are out of the box. That’s how I have been, always,” she clarifies.
Will this bold new attitude translate into the roles we will see her in as well? “I’ve always been someone who’s been very experimental as a person, so I don’t think I’m gonna stop; it will only continue, and get better.”
Sexy to you means...
In just one word, ‘confidence’.
You look most sexy in?
A saree, I’d think...
I even know how to drape one!
What makes you sexy?
That’s a question you should probably ask other people (laughs). Well, a post-workout high definitely makes me feel sexy.
For a date, you’d wear...
it depends on what we are doing. If it’s a dinner, date, I’d go for a nice black dress. If it’s a beach date, then probably shorts and a T-shirt.
One risqué fashion trend you’d love to try, but haven’t dared to yet...
May be wear a ‘nude dress’, like the ones worn by the likes of JLo. That would be
one dress I’d try if I had the guts to.
Would you be game to wear a bikini on screen?
I don’t have any reservations about wearing a bikini on screen. But it will depend on how tastefully it will be portrayed. Now that I’m more confident about my body and myself, may be I can take that up as a challenge.
What’s the first thing you notice in a guy?
It has to be his voice. That, and his confidence. However, ‘overconfidence’ is total no-no.
It will surely put me off. I think smart guys are sexy. If a guy can open my eyes to new things, that would be something. So if I’m talking about travel — and I think I am pro at travel — and he comes up with something which I don’t know about, that would be sexy. A guy who knows more than I do will surely impress me.
If you’re stuck on an island with a hottie you dig, what you would do?
Well, we’ll try to figure out how to get off the island (laughs).
